Man Killed in Fiery Multi-Car Crash on Hollywood (170) Freeway near Roscoe Boulevard in North Hollywood ID’d as Kenny Duarte

North Hollywood, California (March 7, 2020) – The Los Angeles County coroner’s office has identified the man who was killed last week Saturday in a multi-car accident in North Hollywood.

Kenny Duarte, 30, of Van Nuys, died in the wreck that happened at about 10:45 p.m. Saturday, February 29 on Hollywood (170) Freeway, just south of Roscoe Boulevard.

As per the report, a 1994 Honda Del Sol, driven by Duarte, was traveling southbound in the No. 2 lane of the freeway when it slowed down and was rear-ended by a 2015 Lexus GS 350. The Honda then veered to the left and crashed center divider before it was hit on its left side by a 2016 Lexus ES 350.

The Honda caught fire after the impact.

Duarte was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 62-year-old female passenger in the 2016 Lexus ES 350 was taken to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center-Burbank with minor injuries.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
