Kaj Faaborg Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash in Whittier on 60 Freeway

Whittier, California (January 10, 2020) – A man was killed and three others injured in a hit-and-run crash involving multiple vehicles in Whittier, Kaj Wendall Faaborg, 42, of La Puente, arrested, police said.

The fiery, deadly crash was reported at around 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, on westbound Pomona (60) Freeway, just west of the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway interchange.

The California Highway Patrol said Faaborg was driving a 2014 Dodge Ram when he rear-ended a 2004 Ford Mustang that had been stopped in the traffic. The impact of the crash caused Ford to crash into the back of a Honda that was stopped in front of it. The Honda got shoved into the end of a Toyota.

The Ford and the Honda burst into flames after the crash.

The driver of the Ford was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the Honda sustained major injuries.
