Man Killed in San Jose Accident on Highway 101 near Tully Road Early Tuesday Morning ID’d as Jose Leyva
San Jose, California – The man who was killed in a San Jose accident that occurred on the early morning of Tuesday has been identified as 22-year-old Jose Perez Levya, of San Jose by the Santa Clara County.
The accident was reported by the California Highway Patrol at around 1:17 am on Highway 101 near Tully Road ramp that occurred between a vehicle and a big rig.
Levya was driving a 2017 Honda Accord northbound on Highway 101 when he crashed into the rear of a big rig driven by a 40-year-old man from Hollister.
Levya was declared dead at the accident scene.
Due to the accident, CHP shut down the northbound lanes of the highway. As of 3 am, all the lanes were reopened.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
