Jose Garcia-Cerron Identified as Man Killed in Arvin Car Crash at South Fairfax Road and East Bear Mountain Boulevard

Arvin, California (April 22, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a fatal car crash that left one person killed and several others injured in Arvin, Bakersfield.

As per the police logs, the deadly crash transpired at about 5:45 a.m., on April 21, at the intersection of South Fairfax Road and East Bear Mountain Boulevard.

The police said a 2007 Dodge Caliber was traveling southbound on S. Fairfax Road when it crashed into the right side of a 2002 Chevy Suburban that was heading westbound on Highway 223 towards S. Fairfax.

A passenger in the Chevy, Jose Garcia-Cerron, 66, of Arvin, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Garcia-Cerron was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Five other patients in the Chevy and three other victims in the Dodge sustained minor injuries and were taken to a hospital for medical evaluation.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
