Jonathan Padilla Arrested, Several Injured in Hemet Accident at Florida Avenue and Santa Fe Street
Hemet, California (February 18, 2020) – Several people were injured after multiple vehicles collided at the area of Florida Avenue and Santa Fe Street in Hemet, according to a police report.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash on Saturday, February 15, at around 10:50 p.m.
According to the report, a 24-year-old Jonathan Padilla was driving a black Chevrolet SUV, slammed into a light pole, and continue driving on the highway.
Padilla then collided with at three other vehicles at the intersection of Stetson Avenue and Lyon Avenue.
Police said a dog and several people were injured following the crash. All injured victims were taken to the hospital for treatment. The dog was also transported to a nearby shelter by animal officers.
Padilla was arrested on suspicion of DUI following the crash and was booked into Cois Byrd Detention Center in Murrietta.
No other details of the crash were immediately released.
The crash is still under investigation.
