Johnny Esslinger Dies 2 Weeks after Pauma Valley Motorcycle Accident on Cole Grade Road near Spring Valley Road
Pauma Valley, California (January 22, 2020) – Johnny Esslinger, 58, of Valley Center, has succumbed to his injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident that happened earlier this month in Pauma Valley.
The wreck occurred at about 6:47 a.m. Monday, January 6 on Cole Grade Road near Spring Valley Road.
Authorities said Esslinger was riding a motorcycle on Cole Grade Road when traffic slowed and he tried to pass a car. Another vehicle turned in front of Esslinger’s bike and he crashed into the side of the vehicle.
Esslinger suffered severe head trauma and was transported to Palomar Medical Center. His condition got worse and was declared dead on Monday, January 20.
The accident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
