Jesus Mauris ID’d as Pedestrian Killed in Santa Fe Springs Crash on 605 Freeway near Telegraph Road Â
Santa Fe Springs, California (June 16, 2020) – Jesus Mauris, 36, of Montebello, has been identified as the man who died after being struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning in Santa Fe Springs. Â
The fatal crash took place at around 2:11 a.m. Saturday, June 13 on Interstate 605 Freeway near Telegraph Road. Â
Authorities said a vehicle was traveling on Interstate 605 Freeway when it struck Mauris, who was walking in the area.
Mauris was also hit by another vehicle while lying in the freeway. He died at the scene. Â
The driver of the second vehicle stopped after the accident. The driver of the first vehicle did not stop but returned to the scene after noticing damage to his car. Â
The accident remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding the crash is urged to call investigating Officer V. Montemayor at 562-868-0503. Â
