Jeffrey Russ Among 2 Killed in Lancaster Train Crash at Avenue I and Sierra Highway

Lancaster, California (June 1, 2020) – Jeffrey Russ, 37, of Quartz Hill, has been identified as the victim who was killed in a train accident on Friday morning in Lancaster, according to the coroner’s office.

The crash happened at about 5:14 a.m., on May 29, at Avenue I and Sierra Highway.

A train reportedly collided with a car on the railroad.

According to the police, it was not clear whether the vehicle was crossing or parked when the accident occurred.

Russ and one other person in the car were pronounced dead at the scene.

More details about the crash were not immediately available.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
