Mission Hills, California (April 14, 2020) – Authorities have identified Jasmin Recendiz Morales, 21, of Los Angeles, as the pedestrian who died after being struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning in Mission Hills.

Authorities responded to Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway, just east of Sepulveda Boulevard, after reports of a pedestrian accident that happened at about 12:45 a.m. Saturday, April 11.

According to the authorities, Morales was riding as a passenger in a Honda Accord when she started attacking the Uber driver. The driver stopped on the right shoulder of the roadway and pulled Morales out of the vehicle.

Morales eventually walked into the path of oncoming traffic, where she was struck a 2008 Nissan Altima.

Morales was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities asked anyone who witnessed the accident to call them at 818-888-0980.

A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
