80-Year-Old Janice Kespolh ID’d Woman Killed in Mendocino Crash on State Route 20 near Potter Valley

Mendocino, California (December 27, 2019) – Police officers have identified Lakeport woman who was killed in a vehicle crash on Wednesday evening in Mendocino, as Janice Kespohl, 80, police said.

The accident was reported at around 5:30 p.m. December 25, on State Route 20 near Potter Valley.

The California Highway Patrol said Kespohl was driving a 2017 Hyundai west on Potter Valley Road. 24-year-old Cielo Alavezos, of Ukiah, was also driving on the roadway in lane 1.

Alvezos car the struck Kespohl’s, and both vehicles came to rest in the westbound lane.

Kespohl was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

No other details of the crash were immediately released.

The investigation into the crash is still underway.
