James Parscal Injured in Redding Fatal DUI Car Crash on 5 Freeway, Jecenia Hedrick Arrested 

Jecenia Hedrick Arrested After Redding Fatal Car Accident on 5 Freeway near Highway 299

Redding, California (February 15, 2019) – The California Highway Patrol has released the name of the victim injured following an alleged DUI fatal traffic collision that happened in Redding shortly after 1:00 a.m. early on Friday morning.

The multi-vehicle crash took place on February 14 along 5 Freeway near Lake Boulevard/Highway 299 interchange.

According to a local news source, the accident involved a 2013 Honda Civic driven by 22-year-old Jecenia Hedrick of Anderson westbound on 5 Freeway, a Peter-built tractor truck and a 2006 BMW operated by a 20-year-old man.

The Honda reportedly rear-ended the BMW, causing it to overturn on its roof.

A Peter-built tractor truck driven by 56-year-old Timothy McDaniel, of Medford, Oregon then slammed into the sedan.

Hedrick and her passenger 20-year-old James Parscal were transported to an area hospital for treatment of severe injuries sustained in the wreck.

The unidentified BMW male driver died in the accident. 

McDaniel was not injured following the wreck.

Police affirmed that Hedrick was intoxicated at the time of the collision. She was later arrested for DUI and is facing felony charges, including manslaughter.

The CHP is still investigating the cause of the fatal accident.
