Heather Ballou Injured in Suspected DUI Crash on Greenley Road near Cabezut Road in Sonora

Heather Ballou Hospitalized after Sonora Car Crash on Greenlay Road near Cabezut Road

Sonora, California (March 14, 2020) – 45-year-old Heather Ballou, of Murphys, was hospitalized after an accident involving two vehicles happened on Thursday shortly before noon in Sonora, police said.

The crash was reported on northbound Greenley Road, just south of Cabezut Road.

The California Highway Patrol said a pickup truck was heading north on Greenlay Road while Ballou was west on Cabexut Road, just east of Greenlay Road.

The driver of the pickup struck Ballou’s car after he traveled over the double yellow lines while turning right onto Cabezut Road.

Ballou, together with the pickup driver, suffered minor injuries in the crash, and they were transported to Adventist Health Sonora by ground ambulance.

The driver of the pickup was later arrested and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail on Felony DUI charges due to injuries sustained and assigned a $25,000 bond.

The crash remains under investigation.
