1 Seriously Injured in Lucerne Valley Truck Accident on Highway 18 near Richard Street

Lucerne Valley, California (April 2, 2020) – One person sustained serious injuries Thursday morning following a traffic accident in Lucerne Valley, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.

According to the CHP, a small sedan collided head-on with a tractor-trailer on Highway 18 near Richard Street at around 6:49 a.m. One of the double-trailers on the semi-truck flipped over upon the impact.

One person was pinned inside their wrecked vehicle and was extricated by emergency responders. The victim was then flown to Desert Regional Hospital in Palm Springs for treatment of major injuries.

The name and condition of the patient were not immediately disclosed.

Police blocked the roadway during the investigation.
