Guadalupe Montenegro Airlifted after Major Atwater Crash on Santa Fe Avenue

Atwater, California (January 30, 2019) – Three persons were injured after a traffic collision on Wednesday morning in Atwater, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The major accident happened on Sant Fe Avenue at the intersection of Santa Fe Drive and Avenue Two at around 10:00 a.m. January 29.

As per the CHP officials, a 1999 Toyota Solara driven by 65-year-old Luis Montenegro of Winton was heading eastbound on Santa Fe Drive. At the same time, a 2019 Ford F-150 operated by 54-year-old James Macminn of Merced was heading westbound. As Macminn attempted to make a left turn into Avenue Two, his truck drove directly into the Toyota’s path. The Solara then slammed into Ford’s right side.

52-year-old Guadalupe Montenegro, a Toyota passenger, suffered moderate injuries as a result of the collision. Guadalupe was flown to a medical center by an air ambulance.

The motorist complained of pain as a result of the accident. The two were not taken to a hospital for further medical aid.

Drugs or alcohol were not believed to be factors in the collision.

An investigation by the CHP officials is underway.
