Girl Sustains Critical Injuries in Fresno Hit-And-Run Pedestrian Accident, Driver Arrested
Girl Struck and Critically Hurt by Hit-And-Run Driver at Fresno Street and Dakota Avenue in Fresno
Fresno, California (February 28, 2020) – Authorities are investigating the cause of an alleged hit-and-run traffic collision that took place in the area of Fresno Street and Dakota Avenue on Thursday evening.
According to a local news source, a girl was hospitalized with critical injuries after she was hit by a vehicle in a crosswalk at approximately 6:00 p.m. February 27.
The driver of the involved vehicle did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.
Medical personnel responded at the scene and attended to the patient who had suffered critical injuries. The name of the injured party has not yet been disclosed to this time.
The hit-and-run driver was followed by Good Samaritans who witnessed the wreck up to a home on Fedora and Fresno after they contacted Authorities.
One of the witnesses tackled the driver to the ground and waited for the officers to arrive.
Meanwhile, police arrested the unidentified suspect on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run.
The accident remains under an active investigation.
