Freeway Service Patrol Driver Dies after Woodside Car Crash on Interstate 280 near Farm Hill Boulevard
Woodside, California (June 24, 2020) – A Freeway Service Patrol driver was killed in a traffic accident on Tuesday evening in Woodside, according to authorities.
The deadly crash occurred on southbound Interstate 280, north of Farm Hill Boulevard.
As per the CHP report, a lumber truck struck the Freeway Service Patrol driver and his vehicle while helping a stranded motorist.
The Freeway Service Patrol driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the accident, the lumber truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. The drivers showed no signs of impairment or intoxication.
The roadway was closed due to the accident, and just after 9:15 p.m., the freeway was reopened.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
