Female Pedestrian Hit and Severely Hurt by Car in Sacramento
Sacramento Pedestrian Accident on Watt Avenue and Highway 50
Sacramento, California (April 24, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a pedestrian accident that occurred early Friday morning on southbound Watt Avenue on-ramp to westbound Highway 50 in Sacramento, leaving a female party severely injured.
The auto-pedestrian crash happened at about 12:46 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
A blue Toyota RAV4 hit the female pedestrian under unclear circumstances.
Emergency crews found the victim with severe injuries. She was transported to the hospital in unknown condition.
Watt Avenue on-ramp to westbound Highway 50 remained closed as authorities investigated.
A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
