Pedestrian Hit and Killed by Vehicle on 710 Freeway near Florence Avenue in Los Angeles
East Los Angeles, California (May 5, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of a fatal pedestrian accident that took place in East Los Angeles early Tuesday morning.
As per the CHP report, a pedestrian was struck by a red Toyota Corolla in the No. 3 lane of the Interstate 710 Freeway shortly after 2:08 a.m.
Sadly, the unidentified victim possibly died at the scene, the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.
The Toyota motorist stopped after the wreck and cooperated with the investigation.
The CHP is still investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
