Ernest Gonzales Killed in Sacramento Wrong-Way Crash on Interstate 5 near Airport Boulevard
Sacramento, California – The Sacramento wrong-way accident that occurred on Interstate 5 near Airport Boulevard late night on Sunday, one person was killed. He was identified as Ernest Gonzales, 46, a resident of Woodland by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
On August 30, at around 11:52 pm, Gonzales was driving Honda Accord south on the northbound side of Interstate 5 when he crashed with an oncoming Toyota Camry.
The accident impact made the Honda airborne and then it collided with a northbound Volvo.
Gonzales was declared as dead at the accident site, while the driver of the Toyota suffered major injuries.
The Volvo driver was identified as a 38-year-old resident from Moore, Idaho and he sustained minor injuries.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
