Dylan Orsburn Airlifted after Maricopa Motorcycle Accident on Highway 33 near Kerto Road

Maricopa, California (March 24, 2020) – Authorities are investigating the cause of a major injury crash involving a Taft man riding a motorcycle and a car that occurred Saturday night in Maricopa.

On March 21, at about 8:18 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the accident on Highway 33, just north of Kerto Road.

Dylan Orsburn, 24, of Taft, was riding his motorcycle southbound on Highway 33 when he veered into the opposite lane and sideswiped a Dodge Ram pickup.

The force of the impact caused Orsburn to be ejected from his bike. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, the CHP said.

Orsburn was airlifted to Kern Medical Center with major injuries. The driver of the pickup, William Blize, 74, of Maricopa, was not injured.

Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the accident. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
