Driver Flees after Chinatown Pedestrian Crash at North Broadway and College Street
Woman Struck, Severely Injured by Hit-and-Run Driver in Chinatown
Chinatown, California – A women sustained critical injuries on Friday afternoon after involving in a hit-and-run accident in Chinatown, and was rushed to the hospital, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
According to the report, the LAPD Central Traffic Division was called to the accident scene at North Broadway and College Street.
Based on the initial investigation, the officers revealed that the woman was crossing North Broadway when a black Mercedes Benz sedan hit her.
The driver of the vehicle halted for a while but then fled away from the crash scene.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics rushed to the accident site and took the victim to the hospital for treatment of multiple blunt-force trauma injuries. She was in critical condition.
The officers described the hit-and-run driver to be a 35 to a 40-year-old black male, 6 feet 4 inches tall, weighs about 180 pounds and has a braided short blond hair. The suspect has a tattoo of the number “1” on the left side of his face and tattoos on both arms.
The driver was traveling in a 2003-2006 model C-230 with dealer issued paper plates.
