Christina Barton Killed in Fresno Car and Big Rig Accident on Highway 99

33-Year-Old Christina Barton Killed in Fresno Truck Crash on Highway 99, April 16

Fresno, California (April 19, 2020) –33-year-old Christina Barton of Merced has been identified as the woman who died following a traffic collision that happened in the area of Fresno shortly before 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning, according to the Fresno County coroner.

As per the California Highway Patrol report, a Honda was traveling at a high rate of speed south on Highway 99 just north of Herndon Avenue when its driver lost control and crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer rig.

Barton, who was a passenger in the Honda, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver, who has not yet been identified, was hospitalized with major injuries. Officials said the patient was listed in critical condition.

Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected factors in the accident. An investigation into the crash is underway.
