CHP ID’d Victim Killed in Sutter County Head-On Accident on Highway 99 near Live Oak as Jeremy Barrington

Jeremy Barrington Fatal Sutter County Head-On Crash on Highway 99 near McDonald Avenue 

Sutter County, California (January 2, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol has released the name of the victim killed in a head-on crash on Monday morning in Sutter County.

The fatal accident happened on Highway 99 near McDonald Avenue and just south of Live Oak shortly after 8:45 a.m. December 30.

Barrington, who was driving a 2000 GMC pickup truck northbound on Highway 99, allowed the truck to drift into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on with a 2014 Peterbilt semi-truck driven by a Turlock man.

Barrington died in the accident.

The Turlock man survived with minor facial lacerations following the wreck.

The southbound lanes of Highway 99 were closed down at Clark Road, and northbound was closed at Paseo Road for an unknown time.

Alcohol was considered a factor in the crash. The big rig driver has not yet been arrested to this time.

The CHP is still investigating the cause of the accident.
