2-Year-Old Boy Killed in Fairfield Pedestrian Crash at W. Texas Street
Fairfield, California (February 24, 2020) – A two-year child was killed in an auto-pedestrian crash on Sunday afternoon in Fairfield, according to police.
At about 2:00 p.m., on February 23, at the 1400 block of W. Texas Street, a two-year-old boy was struck by a car driven by 32-year-old Cirilo Martinez Tellez of Fairfield, the boy’s uncle.
The boy was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The police impounded Tellez’s vehicle after the accident. Tellez reportedly fled the scene after the crash and later returned to the crash site at about 6:00 p.m.
According to evidence gathered at the scene, the police believe alcohol impairment was a factor in the crash.
Tellez was arrested into Solano County Jail for felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter.
The crash remains under investigation.
“A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles” Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, Mr. Arin Khodaverdian, believes. “Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries including temporary or lifelong disability, severe disfigurement, severe physical and emotional pain, and/or death.” He adds.
Mr. Khodaverdian has worked for many years as a wrongful death and personal injury attorney. He and his team of attorneys have helped thousands of injury victims and their families recover over $100 million in compensation. “In one case, we recovered a 7-figure settlement within 11 business days of being hired by the family of a victim who was killed by a negligent driver.”
Swift action by an experienced attorney helps preserve evidence, interview witnesses, and begin to pursue those responsible for the incident.
