Carla Becerra Killed in Norwalk Hit-and-Run Accident on San Gabriel River
Bicyclist Killed in Norwalk Crash on San Gabriel River near Firestone Boulevard and Imperial Highway Identified as Carla Becerra
Norwalk, California (February 21, 2020) – Authorities have identified Carla Becerra, 31, of Lakewood, as the bicyclist who died after being struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Norwalk earlier this month.
The fatal accident occurred on the San Gabriel River near Firestone Boulevard and Imperial Highway on Saturday, February 1.
According to authorities, Becerra was hit by a motorcycle while she was riding her bicycle on a trail along the San Gabriel River.
First responders arrived at the scene and found Becerra lying unconscious near her bike along the trail.
Becerra, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, was taken to Coast Plaza Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.
The operator of the motorcycle, Brandon Lindsley, 29, of Norwalk, fled the scene after the accident.
Lindsley was arrested and charged with felony vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and hit-and-run resulting in death or serious injury, along with a special allegation of personally inflicting grave bodily injury.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
