Walnut Man Killed, One Injured in Brea 2-Car Accident on Brea Canyon Road near Tonner Canyon Road
Brea, California (March 21, 2020) – A two-vehicle crash claimed the life of a Walnut man Friday morning in Brea, according to authorities.
On Friday, just before 8:00 a.m., March 20, 2020, emergency personnel responded to the deadly crash on Brea Canyon Road near Tonner Canyon Road.
Authorities said a Walnut man in his 60’s was driving a Honda Civic southbound on Brea Canyon Road when, for undetermined reasons, he lost control of the vehicle and drifted off the roadway. The Civic then traveled back on the road, crossed into the opposite lane and collided with a Nissan van.
The driver of the Civic was pronounced deceased at the scene. The van driver was treated for minor injuries.
Both southbound and northbound lanes were close at about 8:02 a.m. while the authorities investigated the cause of the accident. As of 12:59 p.m., all lanes were reopened.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
