Boy Killed in Antioch Pedestrian Crash on Lone Tree Way Thursday evening

Antioch, California (February 27, 2020) – A boy died after being hit by a vehicle in Antioch Thursday evening, according to a local news source.

The deadly pedestrian accident was reported at about 6:49 p.m. in the 4700 block of Lone Tree Way.

As per the report, the boy was struck by a vehicle while he was walking with his brother on Lone Tree Way.

The boy, whose name was not immediately disclosed, was declared deceased at the scene.

Lone Tree Way and Deer Valley Road to Sagebush Drive were shut down following the crash.

Antioch police are investigating the accident.

A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
