Bicyclist Struck, Killed by Vehicle on Port Chicago Hwy in Concord

54-Year-Old Woman Killed in Concord Bicycle Accident on Port Chicago Highway near Highway 4

Concord, California (January 17, 2020) – A bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday morning in Concord, authorities said.

The deadly crash was reported at around 6:21 a.m. on Port Chicago Highway, just south of state Highway 4 near Panoramic Drive.

According to the authorities, a 54-year-old woman was riding her bicycle on Port Chicago Highway when for an unknown reason, she was hit by a vehicle driven by a 68-year-old Vallejo man.

The woman died in the crash. Her name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.

The driver of the vehicle involved stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the accident.

Authorities closed Port Chicago Highway north of Panoramic Drive for one hour and a half following the crash.

The accident remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this crash is asked to contact the Concord Police Department at 925-671-5096.
