Clifford Vance Killed in Bakersfield Car Accident on Merle Haggard Drive near Airport Drive 

Bakersfield, California (January 16, 2020) – Clifford Vance, 60, of Bakersfield, has been identified as the man who was killed in a head-on crash near Meadows Field Airport in Bakersfield last week Thursday.

The wreck happened at around 2:45 p.m. Thursday, January 9 on Merle Haggard Drive near Airport Drive.

Authorities said a Kia Soul, driven by Vance, was traveling on Merle Haggard Drive when for undetermined reasons, the Kia collided head-on with a Jeep Wrangler.

Vance was taken to Kern Medical, where he was pronounced dead the next day.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
