Austin Rodes Killed in Chatsworth Motorcycle Accident at Devonshire Street and Mason Avenue
Austin Rodes Identified as Victim of Fatal 2-Vehicle Crash at Devonshire Street and Mason Avenue in Chatsworth
Chatsworth, California (March 12, 2020) – A traffic accident in Chatsworth claimed the life of a motorcyclist Tuesday night, according to authorities.
The Los Angeles County coroner identified the motorcyclist as Austin Daniel Vargas Rodes, 26, of Northridge.
On March 10, .at around 9:32 p.m., Rodes was attempting to negotiate a left turn onto southbound Mason when his motorcycle was struck by a Mini Cooper that was heading eastbound on Devonshire Street.
Rodes was thrown from his motorcycle upon the impact and died at the scene at around 9:40 p.m.
The Cooper driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
Investigators said drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash. However, the roadway was wet when the collision occurred.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
