At Least One Suffers Major Injuries in Riverside Car Accident on 215 Freeway near Central Avenue Monday afternoon

Riverside, California (April 7, 2020) – At least one person was seriously injured Monday afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash in Riverside, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

On April 6, at around 4:20 p.m., five vehicles collided in the northbound lane of 215 Freeway near Central Avenue, the CHP report states. The circumstances behind the collision were not immediately clear.

One person was possibly ejected from one of the vehicles upon the impact. That person was then struck by a passing vehicle.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene to assist those who were injured following the wreck. At least one patient had major injuries, authorities said.

The accident caused the closure of all northbound lanes of the freeway. Four wrecked vehicles were towed from the scene of the crash.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
