Antioch Man Killed, 2 Critically Injured in Brentwood Car Crash on Highway 4
One Killed, Two Injured in Head-On Collision on Highway 4 in Brentwood
Brentwood, California – A fatal head-on collision incident occurred on Highway 4 in Brentwood that killed one person and injured two others.
The California Highway Patrol stated that a 2008 Nissan Altima was traveling eastbound when the driver crossed the solid double line into oncoming traffic.
Then the Nissan collided head-on with a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe that was traveling west on the highway.
Just before 5 pm, the incident was reported between Balfour and Marsh Creek roads.
The Nissan driver was a 21-year-old man from Antioch who was killed in the accident, according to the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District officials.
Whereas the Hyundai driver and his female co-passenger were severely injured and were airlifted to the John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek.
Following the accident, the highway was closed in both the directions by the California Highway Patrol to allow the investigators to examine the scene.
The accident still remains under investigation.
