Police Identify Man Killed in Fillmore Motorcycle Accident at Victoria Avenue and Teal Club Road as Aaron Islas

Fillmore, California (March 6, 2020) – Police have identified Aaron Islas, 33, of Ventura, as the man who was killed Wednesday night in a traffic crash at a Fillmore intersection.

Authorities responded to the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Teal Club Road after reports of a traffic collision involving a big rig and a motorcycle that happened at about 11:16 p.m. Wednesday, March 4.

Police determined that a 40-year-old Oxnard man was driving a 2012 Peterbilt tractor-trailer southbound on Victoria Avenue and was turning left onto Teal Club Road when he struck a 2016 Indian Scout that was being driven northbound on Victoria Avenue by Islas.

Islas died at the scene.

The operator of the truck remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.

It is undetermined whether speed, alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

Anyone with details regarding this accident is asked to call Senior Officer Jose Diaz at 805-385-7749.

“Far too many motorcycle collisions are caused by the carelessness or recklessness of other motorists. Sadly, when this occurs, motorcyclists are the ones who tend to suffer the vast majority of injuries”, according to Arin Khodaverdian, Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group. Under California’s rule of comparative negligence, a victim may be able to collect compensation for injuries and other damages even if you were partly at fault for the accident.

Mr. Khodaverdian encourages victims and their family members to seek legal help as soon as possible in order to preserve their rights to the full extent of the law.

Mr. Khodaverdian has worked for many years as a wrongful death and personal injury attorney. He and his team of attorneys has helped thousands of injury victims and their families recover over $100 million in compensation. “In one case, we recovered a 7-figure settlement within 11 business days of being hired by the family of a victim who was killed by a negligent driver.”

Swift action by an experienced attorney helps preserve evidence, interview witnesses, and begin to pursue those responsible for the incident.
