Discovery Bay Woman Dies in Contra Costa County in Gateway Road near Piper Road

Contra Consta County, California (December 8, 2019) – A 42-year-old Discovery Bay woman was struck and killed by a vehicle on Saturday evening in Contra Costa County, according to CHP.

The crash occurred at about 6:35 p.m. December 7, on Gateway Road just west of Piper Road.

Authorities said a 56-year-old Bethel Island man, driving a grey Honda, struck the woman on the roadway. The circumstances under which the collision occurred is still under investigation.

The Discovery Bay woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The driver involved stopped and cooperated with the police.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
