Three Injured in Irwindale Crash on Azusa Canyon Road at Los Angeles Street
Irwindale, California (January 17, 2020) – Three people were hospitalized Wednesday morning after a traffic accident involving two vehicles in Irwindale, a local news source reported.
The crash took place at about 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 15 on Azusa Canyon Road near Los Angeles Street.
According to the report, a Toyota Camry collided with another vehicle on Azusa Canyon Road for undetermined reasons. The Toyota ended up onto the railroad tracks.
The Toyota was blocking the tracks as a Metrolink train was approaching. Good Samaritans rushed to the stuck vehicle and pulled out a female driver.
The train, bound for Los Angeles, was approaching Baldwin Park station when the train engineer saw the Toyota on the tracks and was able to stop the train from hitting the stuck vehicle.
The driver of the Toyota and two occupants of the second car sustained minor injuries in the crash. All patients were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
