29-Year-Old Man Killed, Tony Moss Arrested in Crash on Highway 4 in Pittsburg

Tony Moss Arrested Fatal DUI Crash in Pittsburg on Highway 4 near Bailey Road

Pittsburg, California (February 9, 2020) – A 29-year-old Antioch man was killed, and Tony Moss, 59, was arrested following a suspected DUI crash Sunday morning in Pittsburg, according to a police report.

The crash was reported at around 2:00 a.m. February 9, on eastbound Highway 4 near Bailey Road feeder.

According to the Contra Costa County CHP officials, a Volkswagen and a 2015 Toyota driven by a 20-year-old Oakley man were believed to be involved in the crash when a Harley Davidson, driven by the 29-year-old man crashed into both cars.

The 29-year-old motorcyclist was killed in the crash.

Moss, the driver of the Volkswagen, was taken to the John Muir hospital in Walnut Creek for treatment. Upon his release, he was transported to the Martinez detention facility, where he was booked into the county jail on suspicion of felony DUI.

The driver of the Toyota sustained minor injuries in the accident.

The initial report from the CHP stated that a driver had hit a big rig, and as many as six vehicles were involved in the crash. But the information was later found to be incorrect.

The crash remains under investigation.
