2 Killed, 2 Injured in Multi-Car Crash on Interstate 580 in Oakland

2 Children Killed, 2 Hurt in Oakland Truck Accident on Interstate 580

Oakland, California (May 7, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a Thursday morning multi-vehicle accident that killed two children and left a woman and another child with major to moderate injuries in Oakland.

The deadly crash occurred at around 11:30 a.m., on May 7, on westbound Interstate 580.

According to the police, a Honda Accord lost control and rear-ended a Ford truck parked in the center divider being used by the California Department of Transportation workers. The Honda was traveling westbound on Interstate 580 at the time.

The Honda was reportedly struck by another Minivan following the initial collision, said the officials.

Two children were pronounced dead at the scene. A third child sustained moderate injuries while the female driver was hospitalized with major injuries.

No other injuries were reported following the mishap.

Drugs or alcohol were not believed to have played a role in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, Mr. Arin Khodaverdian believes that truck accident claims are rarely straightforward regardless of the circumstances involved. “Liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim and it is crucial, therefore, to have an experienced attorney on your side,” He said.

Mr. Khodaverdian has worked for many years as a wrongful death and personal injury attorney. He and his team of attorneys has helped thousands of injury victims and their families recover over $100 million in compensation. “In one case, we recovered a 7-figure settlement within 11 business days of being hired by the family of a victim who was killed by a negligent driver.”

Swift action by an experienced attorney helps preserve evidence, interview witnesses, and begin to pursue those responsible for the incident.
