2 Injured, 1 Seriously, in Fontana Truck Crash at Cherry and Whittram Avenues
Fontana, California (February 8, 2020) – Two people were injured Friday evening in a traffic accident involving a garbage truck in Fontana, according to a local news source.
At about 5:06 p.m. Friday, February 7, authorities received a report about the traffic crash at the intersection of Cherry and Whittram avenues.
The authorities said a Burrtec Waste garbage truck and a white Chevy Silverado pickup collided at the Fontana intersection. The garbage truck then struck a traffic pole.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and extricated the garbage truck driver who was trapped in the wreckage. The victim was then transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with major injuries.
The operator of the pickup suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
The accident remains under investigation.
