2 Hospitalized after Monterey Car Accident on Highway 68 at Olmstead Road

Monterey, California (December 16, 2019) – According to a local news source, two people were hospitalized Friday afternoon after a traffic accident in Monterey.

The crash took place at around 1:47 p.m. Friday, December 13 on Highway 68, just east of Olmstead Road. Highway 68 is also known as Monterey-Salinas Highway.

According to the local news report, three vehicles collided for an undetermined reason on Highway 68. One of the involved vehicles drifted off the road and slammed into a tree before it came to a stop in a westbound direction. Another vehicle sustained major right-side damage.

One person was transported by a ground ambulance to the trauma center at Natividad Hospital in Salinas while another was taken to Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula. Their names and conditions at this time were not disclosed.
