2 Injured in Simi Valley Big Rig Crash on Highway 118 near Tapo Canyon Road Exit

Simi Valley, California (June 13, 2020) – Two people were injured in a three-vehicle accident on Friday afternoon in Simi Valley, according to the authorities.

At about 12:12 p.m., on June 12, the California Highway Patrol responded to the crash on Highway 118 near Tapo Canyon Road exit.

A box truck collided with two other vehicles on the roadway. The factors that contributed to the accident are yet to be established, the police said.

Following the accident, the truck overturned and one person was possibly ejected onto the roadway.

The ejected victim sustained major injuries from the crash. One other person suffered minor injuries.

Highway 118 was closed due to the accident, and as of 2:00 p.m., the highway was fully reopened.

The crash remains under investigation.
