2 Dead, 3 Injured Following 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 16 in Amador County
Amador County Head-On Crash on Highway 16 near Welsh Pond Road Kills 1, Injures 3
Amador County, California (March 31, 2020) – A head-on collision claimed the lives of two people and left three others with serious injuries Sunday night in Amador County, authorities said.
A Chevy Cruze and a Volkswagen Passat collided head-on on Highway 16 near Welsh Pond Road shortly before 8:00 p.m. March 29, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The female driver of the Chevy and her juvenile male passenger were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The Volkswagen driver and his two passengers, all from Sacramento, were airlifted to valley trauma centers with major injuries.
The names of both the deceased and the injured parties have not been released.
Highway 16 was closed for several hours as a result of the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
