1 Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 178 in Inyokern
Inyokern Truck Accident on Highway 178 near Brown Road Kills 1
Inyokern, California (March 19, 2020) – Authorities are investigating the cause of a two-vehicle crash that left one person dead late Wednesday morning in Inyokern.
On March 18, officers responded to the fatal crash on Highway 178 near Brown Road.
According to the authorities, a fuel truck and a sedan collided for undetermined reasons. The sedan became wedged underneath the semi-truck as a result of the crash.
The semi-truck then burst into flames and was extinguished by emergency responders.
Authorities said one person died in the accident. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of family.
Approximately 100 gallons of diesel fuel leaked from the tanker and Caltrans was sent to the crash site to clean up.
The accident remains under investigation.
