Driver Dies, 2 Hospitalized after Ceres Car Accident on Hatch Road near Central Avenue

Ceres, California (May 18, 2020) – One person was killed and two others were injured Monday morning in a traffic accident in Ceres, according to a local news source.

The deadly crash occurred on the eastbound side of Hatch Road at Central Avenue and involved two vehicles.

According to authorities, a red sedan was traveling on the roadway when, for unknown reasons, it drifted over the center median into the opposite lane and collided with an oncoming pickup truck.

The sedan driver died in the accident. The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of the family.

Two occupants of the pickup sustained minor injuries and were taken to a hospital.

Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the accident.

Westbound Hatch Road was shut down as the investigation and cleanup took place.

The accident remains under investigation.
