Downey Car Crash Along Wiley Burke Avenue Sent One to Hospital

Downey, California (December 31, 2019) – According to a local news source, one person was hurt early on Monday morning after a vehicle crashed into a building in Downey.

The collision happened on Wiley Burke Avenue at about 12:00 a.m. December 30.

As per the report, a Chevrolet pickup truck carrying two suspects failed to cooperate after they were stopped by officers from the Buena Park Police Department.

The truck fled eastbound on Florence Avenue and then turned onto Wiley Burke Avenue. The pickup driver lost control, drifted off the road and slammed into an apartment building.

One person inside the building was struck by the truck.

The victim was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Meanwhile, a passenger and the operator of the involved pickup were arrested after the collision.

The accident remains under investigation.
