Police Identify Man Killed in Crash on Highway 25 in Gilroy
Aler Roldan Killed in Gilroy Accident on Highway 25
Gilroy, California (January 9, 2020) – Police officers have identified the man killed in a vehicle accident on January 2 in Giloy as Aler Enriquez Rolden, 42 of San Jose, police said
The California Highway Patrol said a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound on the highway. A 2017 Ford van driven by Roldan was on a private driveway just west of the highway.
The Ford and the Chevrolet collided at around 9:10 p.m. as the Ford entered the highway from the driveway.
Roldan was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
A passenger in the van, identified only as a 39-year-old man, sustained major injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Chevrolet was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
No other details of the crash were immediately released.
The circumstances under which crash occurred is still being investigated.
