Maria Munoz Killed in Crash on Mountain View Avenue and Magnolia Avenue in San Bernardino

San Bernardino, California – A traffic collision that occurred in the area of Mountain View Avenue and Magnolia Avenue in San Bernardino on Wednesday evening, Mario Munoz, 62, was killed.

On September 23, at around 6:16 pm, the accident occurred and the driver was arrested following the same.

The San Bernardino police stated that Alexis Navarette, 23, of San Bernardino was driving a Lexus ES350 southbound on Mountain View at high speed when he collided with a 72-year-old woman in Toyota Camry. The Camry was traveling northbound on Mountain View Avenue who was trying to turn onto westbound Magnolia when it was hit by the Lexus.

Munoz was the passenger in the Camry and she was taken to the hospital following the accident. She was later declared dead.

However, Navarette and the two other occupants of Camry sustained minor injuries.

High speed and drugs were suspected by the authorities in the accident. Navarette was arrested for DUI causing injury, vehicular manslaughter, hit-and-run injury, and child endangerment.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the police.
