Man Dies Following Fatal Long Beach Pedestrian Accident at Redondo Avenue and Hill Street

Long Beach, California (February 2, 2020) – A male pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle in the area of Redondo Avenue and Hill Street Friday evening in Long Beach, authorities said.

The deadly accident happened at about 7:15 p.m. Friday, January 31 at the intersection of Redondo Avenue and Hill Street.

Authorities said a 2020 Ford Ranger struck the man while he was walking in the area.

The man was transported to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.

The driver of the vehicle involved fled the scene but later returned and cooperated with the police.

Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the collision.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
