James Briel Killed in Desert Hot Springs Crash on Dillon Road near Johnson Road

Desert Hot Springs, California – A Monday morning accident killed James Blaise Briel, 83, of Desert Hot Springs on Dillon Road in Desert Hot Springs, the California Highway Patrol stated.

On September 21, at around 7:00 am, James was struck by a Ford Mustang that was going at 55 mph, while he was walking in the traffic lanes.

The accident took place near Johnson Road, just outside the Caliente Springs Resort.

The Cal Fire paramedics confirmed James dead at the scene.

However, the driver involved in the accident stopped following the accident and called to report the same.

Alcohol or drugs were not involved as the factor in the accident, as stated by the CHP.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the CHP.
