Man Killed in a Head-On Collision on East Mission Road in Fallbrook
Fallbrook, California – A head-on collision on East Mission Road in Fallbrook killed a 55-year-old man from Fallbrook and leaving a 47-year-old woman injured according to the California Highway Patrol.
The police said that a Fallbrook woman was traveling westbound in her Ford Mustang on East Mission Road. At the same time, a Fallbrook man was traveling eastbound in his Toyota Tacoma truck.
Without knowing any reasons, the Mustang driver crossed the double yellow line and came directly into the path of the Toyota creating a head-on collision.
On Monday afternoon at around 1:20 pm, the crash occurred near Live Oak Park Road and Megan’s Bluff neighborhood according to CHP.
Following the accident, the impact made the drivers trapped inside their vehicles. However, they were extricated using the Jaws of Life.
The male driver suffered severe injuries and was rushed to the Palomar Medical Center where he was later declared dead.
Whereas, the Mustang driver was determined to have DUI of drugs and was arrested. The police later released her to Palomar Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.
The incident is under investigation of the CHP
