Charles Hatherill Injured in Highway 101 Crash near Indianola Cutoff Road in Humboldt County
Charles Hatherill Struck and Injured by Vehicle on Highway 101 in Humboldt County
Humboldt, California – A Highway 101 accident that happened near Indianola Cutoff Road in Humboldt County on Wednesday morning, Charles Hatherill Jr., 46, of Eureka was injured.
Hatherill was working in the southbound No 2 lane of Highway 101 while at the same time Paul Giacomini, 65, of Fortuna was driving a 21001 Dodge pickup southbound on No 1 lane.
Without knowing any reason, Hatherill stepped out from between the contraction trucks parked within the No 2 lane into the path of Dodge and was hit, according to the CHP.
Paul was able to slow down his car but the truck’s front part hit Hatherill throwing him to the ground.
On October 7, at around 5:40 am the accident happened.
Hatherill sustained minor injuries and was taken to the St. Joseph Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, Paul was not hurt and the pickup was not damaged.
No more details about the accident were available.
The CHP is investigating the accident.
